Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Bansode
NASHIK, SEPTEMBER 13, 2011: The Nativity of Our Lady was celebrated at Don Bosco and Satpur Church, Nashik with great enthusiasm and love. Many devotees flocked to Don Bosco Church and Stapur for the feast of Our Lady of Velankanni.
The novenas began with the flag- hoisting ceremony at both the churches. The participation of the masses all through the novena was great. The people were grateful for two reasons; firstly, because they could make the novena in honour of Our Lady’s Birthday, and secondly, because they could save their travel to Devlali which is at least an hour’s travel. The animation of the eleven days, that is, the flag-hoisting day, the nine days of the novena and the feast day, was allotted to the various zones and areas of Don Bosco and Satpur Church. The people beautifully decorated the statue of Our Lady with sarees and flowers, and also meaningfully animated the daily rosary and the mass. The parish councillors, the Mahila Mandals, the youth groups, the zonal and area leaders cooperated well with all the faithful and celebrated the Birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
A solemn Eucharist was celebrated on the feast day which was followed by a shared meal. About three hundred people at Don Bosco and four hundred at Satpur shared a meal. It was truly an experience of building community and union of hearts.
May Our Lady bless and guide her children. May all generations call her blessed!
