NASHIK, NOVEMBER 12, 2011: On a day when the whole Salesian family commemorates the hundred and thirty sixth anniversary of the first Salesian missionary expedition to Patagonia, the novitiate at Nashik tried to create a missionary atmosphere with special prayers, mass animation, adoration and activities during the course of the day.
Don Bosco always kept the missionary fervour alive; he nurtured it in his heart and inspired his sons to go far and wide. The missionary is the symbol of God's love to the disadvantaged. Jesus works miracles, transforms the members of his Church through the availability of his missionaries. Hence what God requires of us is availability and not so much our abilities. We are called to possess Love, give Love and live in Love for without love, there can be no satisfaction in any amount of work we do. Let us then today join our hands together in praying for all our missions, missionaries and neighbours. Let us make the words of Don Bosco, "Let the troubles and sufferings of one be regarded as the troubles and sufferings of all", be a part of our daily lives.
