NERUL, NOVEMBER 28, 2011:
November 14, 2011 the most-awaited day for all the children finally dawned on a bright Monday. Children's Day is celebrated throughout India in remembrance of Chacha Nehru, who loved children. The Staff of DBSS, Nerul, under the guidance of their able Principal, organized an innovative way of celebrating this day, quite different from the usual programmes, ending with the distribution of snacks and gifts.
Students assembled at 9.30 am in their party clothes. "A good day begins with a prayer" and the Boscoites did just that. Morning Prayer was followed by the Inauguration of the events, by our school Manager, Fr. Bonnie Borges.Children were given game and snack coupons from Classes I – X. They entered the school ground with eager and excitement, wondering what the surprise would be in store for them. There were twenty one stalls offering different games like 'Feeding Richie', 'Clap and Catch', 'Smack the Can', 'Ring the Target' and many more. Students stood in front of the stalls trying their hand at skill-games and enjoying their day out! Those who won were awarded prize coupons which could be redeemed at the Prize counter. Hot samosas and delicious puffs satisfied hunger-pangs while cool 'gluco-vita' quenched parched throats.A game of housie was conducted in the Assembly Hall at 12.30 pm. They ended with the distribution of snacks and gifts, after which everyone dispersed with smiles on their faces and fond memories in their hearts.
