GREEN DAY HOUSE

Neelam Rodrigues

BORVILI, NOVEMBER 28, 2011:  For two days, that is on November 23 and 24 respectively, the boys of the secondary and the middle school, witnessed the magic of their house leader, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The participants and the teachers had taken lot of trouble in putting up a well organized programme for the students.

It was started with a brief introductory video on the life and works of Nehru. Nehru's interesting and an impressive piece of work, "Bharat Ek Khoj" had a lot to tell the young generations of today. A well crafted piece from this documentary was presented to the boys through a video.   Finally a skit with a difference…yes, this time it was Nehru's iconic great grandson Rahul Gandhi, who was the centre of the play. The character rightly made the students aware of the enormous responsibility he has on his young shoulders and the way he strives to carry on the legacy ahead…  The audience too, in the following session, was made to participate when there were questions put forth to them.

A truly enriching event that gave an insight into the personal of the legendary himself as well as that of Rahul Gandhi!
