NASHIK, NOVEMBER 30, 2011: The long awaited Salesian Youth Ministry seminar finally commenced from November 25, 2011 to November 28, 2011 conducted by Fr. Ajoy and Fr. Glenn Lowe.
The seminar began with a session which cleared the various prejudices about present day youth scenario. Thereafter the resource personnel explained the difference between youth work and youth ministry. The resource personnel stated that Youth ministry was different from youth work because it consisted of youth at the centre of the mission with an aim of gearing towards people, relationships and Jesus Christ.
Throughout the four days of the seminar we novices progressed slowly towards a better understanding of Youth Ministry. The topics that were covered during the seminar were varied and helped us know the subject well. The novices drew a lot of inspiration from the seminar. Towards the end the novices also had an opportunity to apply practically what they had theoretically worked upon.
The novices looked forward to this seminar with great enthusiasm and what they received was nothing less than the spirituality of Don Bosco. There wasn't a single moment of boredom as the seminar helped the novices change their perspectives about youth ministry.
