NERUL, DECEMBER 03, 2011: Rev. Fr. Michael Fernandes, the Provincial of Mumbai Province made the annual visitation to Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul on November 29, 2011. He was accompanied by the Rector Fr. Jude D'Mello. The students assembled in the hall at 9:30 a.m. The programme commenced with the prayer and school anthem. The dignitaries were welcomed with the traditional Aarti. The Provincial was then introduced by the Pre-primary Supervisor Mrs. Milan Pinto. After felicitation of the guests, the programme continued with a graceful prayer dance by the students followed by a melodious song by the choir. The students then presented colourful dance sequences of various states to portray the feeling of oneness that constitutes the very basis of national integration. The young musicians of the school then showcased their talents through an orchestra performance. They played in unison to present the most soulful rendition of the song-'I have a dream'. Rev. Fr. Michael then expressed his heartfelt joy and praised the students for the wonderful programme.
'Never give up and always do your best 'was the message he gave through an interesting story that he narrated during his address to the students. He also encouraged the students of Class X to work hard and come out with flying colours. The programmed ended with the vote of thanks by Fr. Anthony.
After the programme the Provincial interacted with the teachers. During the interaction he stressed on the fact that the teachers should be sensitive to the needs of the students. Fr. Michael also explained about the six traits that teachers should have.
Fr. Michael's presence in the school made the day extra special and wonderful.
