GUJARAT, DECEMBER 06, 2011: The self-help group members of Don Bosco Kapadvanj, Gujarat bloc visited Dwarka from November 28-30, 2011 to lighten their minds and have an enjoyable time. Fr. Mayank along with the staff of DRISTI organized the excursion for members of the self-help groups of twenty five villages of Kapadvanj.
Two hundred and seventy five women participated in this grand event. The energetic villagers visited Chotila, Nava Ranuja, Harshad Bhavani, the Swami Narayan Mandir of Dwarka and Nageshwar Gopi Talav. The excursion was planned meticulously. Colored batches were provided to the women to ensure that each one was properly seated in the buses. The purpose of this excursion was to reward the participants for the good work being done in the villages. At the end of the outing one could see the bond that had been built among the women. It was a pleasant sight to see the women interact with each other in spite coming from different villages. Another outstanding fact was that the expenses were met by the self-groups themselves.
The women were grateful to the organizing committee especially Fr. Mayank for their energy, time, planning and presence. It was also a dream come true for many of those who had not had such an experience. One could truly say that they had a good time. The women thanked God for the safe trip.
