BIS #2736 MALNUTRITION CAMP- AGARDGAON

AGARDGAON, DECEMBER 17, 2011: The BGVK group conducted a malnutrition camp for the children of the twin villages of Agardgaon and Rathadgaon. This camp was conducted on December 14, 2011 from 9.00am to 4.00pm for children below six years of age. Seventy two children in all were diagnosed with malnutrition in the twin villages; of which fifty two belonged from Rathadgaon.
Well- known malnutrition and child specialist Dr. Amol Todmal and Dr. Nitin Salve, a general practitioner were present for the camp. The child's blood, calcium, eyes and ears were examined and up to date records kept. The Sarpanch, Sirsath of the village was also present and helped in gathering the children in one place. CEO Ashok Powde, Woman and Children in-charge also attended the program and inaugurated the camp. Bro Ramesh and Fr. M. Bansode were the heart and soul behind this camp and helped make it possible by their animation and presence.
This camp is part of the health project of the BGVK in thirty villages of the district. The supervisors double up as Health Educators and supervise the school work and tuitions of the school-going children and hold a month meetings together in St John's premises, Bhingar.
