BIS #2750 NEIGHBOURHOOD CHRISTMAS PARTY

PUNE, JANUARY 02, 2011: For the first time, Sacred Heart Parish, Yerwada organized a "Neighbourhood Christmas Party." The people who attended the party belonged to various trades and cast. It was nice to have the senior police inspector of the Yerwada police station, Mr. Sawant and also the Director of the nearby Maharashtra State Electricity Board station among our guests.

The theme of the get-together was, "First our Neighbour," is underscored in Jesus' message to love thy neighbour as thyself. The Parish Priest, Fr. Anton D'Souza, highlighted this, saying "God who was invisible was made visible through Jesus Christ. We are able to see the true face of God at Christmas time."

All the invitees were deeply touched with this gesture of neighbourhood in action – so different from traditional Christmas celebration. Snacks and tea were served to the accompaniment of carols sung in Marathi by Mr. Kardak and his group.
