A VISIT TO DILKHUSH CHILDRENS' HOME

BORIVLI, FEBRUARY 24, 2012: "A day of joy and a day of hope" that is exactly what the community of St. Martin de Porres (Gorai 2) experienced when the community went on a day out for an annual get together – cum - picnic. The annual thanksgiving Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr Ronnie Menezes. Fr. Menezes in his sermon brought out the essence of living a community life, how we need to appreciate every person, how we tend to live an individual life and do not take notice of people around us and show no commitment towards community. After Mass people wished each other and prepared themselves for the zonal picnic combined with an outreach program.

The members of the community gathered at the Gorai Creek and reached the venue "Dilkhush Children's Home".  There are forty four children residing in the home and our brothers doing a guardian angel's job, taking good care of them.  We did inter-act with the children and had a moment of fellowship, games and meals together.  After lunch the entire community including the children of the home, sat together and enjoyed some fun filled moments.

Before leaving, Bro. Sanjay addressed all those present with words of gratitude and asked us to visit again. The community will be visiting the boys in the month of March for their Lenten out-reach program. We thank all the zonal leaders and the members of the community for the cooperation that was rendered during the year passed. Thanking also the Parish Fathers for being the pillar of support and strengthening every community with their timely help. Praise and thanks to the Heavenly Father for sending his spirit to move among us that whatever we do "We come to you in love".
