BIS #2876 WOMEN'S DAY AT KAPADVANJ

KAPADVANJ, MARCH 22, 2012: Don Bosco Kapadvanj witnessed its Fifth Women's Day on March 20, 2012 coordinated by Dristi staff. Six hundred and twenty five women were present for the grand event. The theme – 'Bhanatar No Dayjo Dikrine Aapjo' that emphasized the promotion of girls' education was enacted by the Kheda District Primary Education Committee through a puppet show. The cultural programme was interspersed with a welcome song, garba, monoact play, and a street play.

The goal of the programme was to focus on the right of each and every woman. It was conducted to emphasize women empowerment and to conscientize the women of the villages of Kapadvanj bloc. In her speech, Mrs. Leelaben Ankolya, President of Gujarat State Women's Commission urged the gathering to promote education of girls. She also invited each one to maintain hygiene in their homes and in their respected villages. Members of other NGOs were also present for this auspicious occasion. Charts depicting, 'Women's participation in Panchayat', 'Promotion of girls' education' and 'Domestic Violence against women' were exhibited in the Mission Mangalam stalls. Thanks to Fr.
