YOU GAVE US WINGS

Sandhya Jain

BORIVLI, MARCH 29, 2012: The tiny-tots of the Sr. K.G. of Savio Kindergarten and the students of Std. IV had their Graduation Day on March 19 and March 22, respectively. The Savioites were dressed in self-coloured shirts and black trousers with graduation sashes and hats - they looked smart indeed. A few of them expressed their feelings reflecting the thought 'YOU GAVE US OUR WINGS'. They were very grateful for being nurtured and chiseled by caring hands and now moulded into happy and independent individuals. The students of the primary section presented a beautiful prayer dance. An entertainment dance by the Savioites was also performed.

The students of Std IV walked in their convocation hats, black capes like they had truly graduated physically, mentally and emotionally. The Lighting of the Lamp invoked God's blessing. It was followed by an educative and a positive life guiding message – "BE HONEST AND OBEDIENT". The school Capt. Mst. Ninad Chaphekar and the Asst. School Capt. Mst. Elroy D'Souza expressed the immeasurable and invaluable efforts of each and every member of the Pre-primary and Primary section to make them what they are today.

Mst. Yadnesh and Mst. Ansh Shetty stole our hearts with their foot tapping dances. Rev. Fr. Ronald Menezes - our Rector spoke to the children, teaching them the version of the word DON as in Don Bosco. The acronym being:
D – Discipline
O – Obedience to Principal, Parents and Teachers
N – Neatness in work, uniform and thoughts.

Mrs. Marina D'souza – Our Headmistress asked the boys to keep these thoughts in mind, follow them and abide by them as they move to the Secondary Section.

The programme concluded with the IV Std. giving us a message "ACHIEVE HIGH WITH HARD WORK". Rev. Fr. Alwyn Misquitta – our Administrator believes "Dreams are not the one that we see when we are asleep but dreams are the ones that we see when we are awake and that can be turned into a reality". And with the song "I have a Dream" the present IV Std. Boscoies will certainly make the dream of Don Bosco come true.

Wishing you good luck my boys, for there is only goodness in you.
