LET US BE THE BEACONS OF LIGHT TO THE WORLD

MATUNGA, MAY 18, 2012: The air at Don Bosco youth services was filled with excitement and jubilation – the smiling faces, the chirpy atmosphere of fun and frolic, the spirit of the camps was witnessed again in the campers reunion 2012. The propaganda for the Red letter day began since the day the Youth Pasch found its conclusion. The Youth Paschers, senior campers and the participants of the Lords Ranch were the invitees for the occasion. There were thirty nine participants to solemnize the occasion.

The main motive for the reunion was to have a glimpse at their progress after their participation in the various camps. Ice-breakers, a review of their commitments, the Holy Eucharist, Festive lunch and Housie were part of the planned program. It was indeed an edifying moment to learn that the commitments made by the participants at the commencement of the various camps were not mere rituals but rather personalized assimilation of conviction towards one's growth and advancement of the other. Quite many acknowledged in all candidness about their failure in keeping up to their promises; the major part of the group was happy to inform the others regarding their progress and how their commitment stood as a guiding force in living out their personal lives.  It was also encouraging and pleasant to hear from some of the youngsters that the various camps made an indelible mark in their life - for some it was the turning point of their life and some others it was a moment of getting in touch with oneself and one's energies.

Overall the session on the after effects of the camps was indeed a great boost and impetus to the animating team headed by Fr. Brian and Fr. Glenn for their hard work and dedication right through the year. Hats off dear fathers and continue to carry on the most delicate job of guiding the most fragile group of the society – the youngsters to their real vocation in life.
