EMBARKING ON A JOURNEY OF ENRICHMENT – PART 2

Clint Braganza

POLAND, MAY 24, 2012: No more Black Monday! With all the groups present in the house, it was time to kick start the festival with a bang and getting introduced was the best way to begin.

Kasia and Aarick who are among the great minds organizing the event, met the groups together in the hall early on Monday morning to break the ice with some innovative and interesting games. Those present were Israel, Japan, Mongolia and India.

Once we were all comfortable with each other and got to know the names of the other, we shot off to showcase the presentations we prepared in the form of dance and song. These presentations went on right up to tea with a lunch break for an hour.

All came well prepared with Mongolia and Japan putting up instrumentals and songs respectively and Israel with their traditional dance. As Indians we went with song and dance and graced it with our lively spirit.

In the evening what followed was an integration session, with many youth present from other countries. These included those present in the morning along with some from Great Britain, a school at Warsaw and even the Polish boys of the boarding we are living in.

The integration session was filled with song and games that broke the barriers of language, color and nationality and brought us as one united human race. The day ended beautifully with a sense of satisfaction and pride of having made new friends across the world. We are really looking forward to a wonderful festival plan chalked out for the coming week.
