SILVER RECTOR SHINING IN SHELTER

WADALA, JUNE 01, 2012: On May 30, Fr. Roger Jones was officially installed as the new Rector and Director of Shelter Don Bosco, Wadala by the Provincial Fr. Michael Fernandes in the presence of the new community.

 

The ceremony began with a few words of introduction by the Provincial. He highlighted the many enriching qualities of Fr. Roger and also the long years and wide experience he has in this field of working with the street children.

 

Fr. Ajoy Fernandes, Vice Provincial highlighted the role of Rector based on the Salesian Constitution. Thereafter, in the presence of the community Fr. Roger pledged to lead the Shelter Don Bosco community with Love and Care in accordance with our Father and Founder Don Bosco. Fr. Provincial presented the Manual for Rector and the key of the Tabernacle symbolizing that the Rector has to take care of the spiritual and human aspect of the community. This year being the Silver year for Shelter Don Bosco, Fr. Provincial wished the community to do their best. He also appreciated and thanked the good work of the outgoing rector Fr. William Falcao.

 

Fr. Roger Jones, the New and Silver Rector of the Shelter Don Bosco thanked and promised to do his best along with the Silver Community and with the help of the province.

 

Fr. Savio Silveira witnessed the ceremony and graced the occasion.
