ANOTHER MILESTONE FOR PROJECT MARATHWADA
AHMEDNAGAR, JULY 21, 2012: On June 30th, 2012 Saturday, the second Marathwada staff training workshop was held at Ahmednagar in Bosco Gramin Vikas Kendra. The five coordinators and the field staff from the districts of Parbhani, Jalna, Aurangabad, Beed and Ahmednagar participated in it.
The workshop began with a small prayer service and lighting of the lamp. Br. Ramesh Durairaj, the Director welcomed all the staff of the project Marathwada and explained to them the importance of the workshop. During the first session Fr. George briefed the staff about the aims and the objectives of the programme and various ways of achieving the target. He also highlighted the role that Self Help Groups play in empowering the downtrodden ones and on how they could be used as a good weapon to achieve aims and objectives of the project i.e. Community organization and capacity building, Skill development, Job placement and livelihood promotion, Improvement of educational facilities and Improvement of health facilities. He also conducted some group activities to discuss the social problems in the villages and the challenges faced by the staff at the grass root level.
The second session was taken by Mr. Bahule, the manager of ADCC bank who dealt on the topic on how to open an SHG account, how to make the maximum use of the government schemes and subsidies. After the lunch Fr. Savio Silvera gave them a talk on the Don Bosco and on how one should approach the work assigned to him or her in this project. After that, there were district wise presentations on the progress of the work in the various districts of Marathwada. After that Fr. Manuel addressed the staff telling them on the importance of owning the project Marathwada Br. Ramesh gave the vote of thanks and the concluding message. The training workshop was very much appreciated by the staff.
