INTERFAITH SERVICE HELD AT FATIMA COMMUNITY

WADALA, AUGUST 23, 2012:  An interfaith service was held on Wednesday August 15 at 11 am.  There were five persons of other faith and nine community members. One of the core group members welcomed all present and this was followed by singing the National Anthem.

One person was invited to light the lamp and this was followed by a prayer and singing of the hymn ‘Give me oil in my Lamp.’   A passage from Bhagwad Gita and Proverbs 10 : 1-9 from the Bible was read.

 

We had prayers for various intentions of the families and also for the sick. We had laying of hands  and blessed a sapling. The service concluded with the hymn ‘Bind us together.

 

One of the members thanked all present  and hoped to have a bigger gathering the next time.  This was the first attempt and a successful one.
