ELECTRIFYING 161 ANNIVERSARY OF JB, BHINGAR CHURCH

BHINGAR-AHMDNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 21, 2012: The Parishioners of St John the Baptist Church, Bhingar united together in an 
auspicious and significant procession at 10.00 am followed by a divinely electrifying Eucharistic Celebration around Fr. Lloyd Rodrigues on Sunday, September 16, 2012.
Today we celebrate another milestone of our existence in this Parish. This historic church has existed for One Hundred and Sixty One long years and prior to this, 185 years ago the Bhingar Parish was securely founded with the forming of this juridical unit. Mr. Udit Pande was the patron of the feast. In the homily the Preacher, Fr. Lloyd gave a mesmerizing talk, stating the history of this long enduring church being built on sacrifices of various missionaries , it embodies the faith on which the people‘s lives were 
founded.
He also recalled his testimony of what process of evolution he went through in with his encounter with the medical science and kidney transfer, heart operation and his new found faith in the Provident Goodness of God and the transformation in his personal life. The Bhingar Sakshidar Youth Choir under Master Kaustuk never failed to keep the music pulsating. The three priests Fr. Lloyd, Fr. Nelson and Fr. Bento belonging to the parish, past and present, joined together in 
prayer and concelebrated.
From this Mother Church, four other baby institutions have grown, St Anne’s, Collectors’ office, Don Bosco Savedi School, Boarding, Parish & Junior College, Bosco Grameen Vikas Kendra, Khedgaon, Auxilium School and Junior College and Our Lady of the Rosary Community Chapel, Jeur, on the Aurangabad Road. St John the Baptist Bhingar has been the Mother Church and fountainhead of new developments in the area, by its immersion in the lives of the people at the grassroots in different areas and variety of services.
The words of Bible ring loud and clear as warning and a threat to complacent and mediocre missionary endeavour: “If you will not serve the poor, others will come in your stead and serve my poor.”St. JB Bhingar has been providing significant services to the people from all walks of life.
