THIS DIWALI BE PROACTIVE GO GREEN
DON BOSCO SCHOOL NASHIK: Diwali is usually connected with pollution reduction. We at Don Bosco, Nashik went a step further by distributing two hundred saplings to be planted and cared for around the homes of our students.
Soon after the last exam of the first semester the students gathered together for a prayer service on Diwali, the festival of lights. Later a Power-Point was shown how Diwali was celebrated by the different sections of the society.
Thereafter a hundred volunteer students took an oath that they will not burst crackers this Diwali to stand up for the people who are disadvantaged. They were presented with a symbolic white ribbon.
To keep up to our resolution to promote a greener planet we created awareness with signs around the school encouraging locals to care for and plant trees. The parents of the students were then presented with saplings of two hundred trees to be planted at their homes.
