SOUTH ASIA ECONOMERS MEET

MATUNGA-MUMBAI, DECEMBEER 14, 2012 : The Salesian Provincial Economers of the South Asia Region met for 
two days on the December 08 and 09, 2012, at the Don Bosco Provincial House – Matunga.
Fr. Elson Barretto, the host Economer, welcomed the gathering and began the meeting in right earnest. A sharing of good practices in the various provinces, as well as difficulties faced was the highlight of the morning session.
There were also, several and varied topics covered, like the Section 25 Company Act, CHAI Medical Insurance for confreres all across India, AcME, FCRA, Direct Taxes, VAT, Role and Identity of the Economer vis-a vis the Development Office, revision of the Manual etc.
Mr. Gavin D’Souza, Mr. Suresh A., Mr. J. Khanolkar and Fr. Thaddeus were among the guest speakers. Fr. Noel Maddhichetty, the SPCSA Convener, spoke at the Eucharistic celebration and at the final wrap-up.
