VEP DAY AT DON BOSCO KAWANT

KAWANT-BARODA, JANUARY 29, 2013 : Disha Don Bosco Kawant organized Village Education Programme day on January 27, 2013 from 9.30 to 5.00 p.m.. All together three hundred twenty five children were present for the event from nine different villages. The day began with a prayer service organized by the IX Std. students with the help of the village children.
At the end of the prayer service, a movie on Don Bosco was screened for twenty minutes. Fr. Rector, welcomed all the VEP teachers and the students and explained to them the mission and goal of VEP Project.
The main aim of the project was to get enrolled in the village school and get quality education from the teachers. The role of the VEP teachers was to strengthen the basic foundation of education and thereby motivating them to enjoy education in a play way method.
Later on in the day, the IX standard students organized FETE games for the children, followed by lunch and the cultural programme. The winner of the cultural programme was the Saidivasan group which put up a Mixed Garbha Dance.
There were altogether fifteen different items well prepared and animated by the VEP teachers. Added feature to the VEP day was the visit to the Adivasi Museum to learn and appreciate Tribal culture.
