PRESENTING DRAFT AFTER DRAFT AT THE PROVINCIAL CHAPTER

BIS Correspondent

DON BOSCO LONAVLA, FEBRUARY 08, 2013:  The third day of the Provincial Chapter commenced with a meditation on Collaboration with the Laity animated by Fr. Wilfred D'Souza. Fr. Crispino D'Souza, the main celebrant at the Eucharist, expressed his nostalgic feelings at celebrating the Holy Eucharist for the first time in the chapel where he prayed as a boarder 37 years ago. Fr. Elson Barretto in his homily highlighted the aspect of allowing the mercy of God to shine forth in our lives through our Salesian vocation.

The chapter meeting began at 9:00 am with Fr. Valerian Pereira invoking God's blessings upon the chapter members, followed by the Capitular Secretary Fr. Vinod Mascarenhas taking the roll call and also presenting the minutes of the second day of the chapter February 06, 2013. Fr. Vinod was once again complimented on the efficiency of his work. The Commission on Province Matters presented their redraft on updating the Province Directory.

After a short break, Fr. Barnabe D'Souza invited first the Commission on Mystics in the Spirit and later the Commission on Prophets of Fraternity to present their redrafts to the assembly.

When the chapter met again at 3:00 pm, Fr. Barnabe invited Fr. Joe Braganza, in-charge of the Mass Media department at Don Bosco Kurla, to share his experience about going beyond the call of duty. The chapter then resumed with the redrafted presentation of the Commission on the Servants of the Young. At 6:00 pm the redraft of the Commission on Province Matters was presented.

The evening adoration animated by Frs. Cletus D'Souza and Lawrence D'Souza was a moment to reflect upon all that had happened during the course of the day, as well as an opportunity to introspect and see how we sometimes falter in being mystics, prophets and servants in our ministry.

In the goodnight, Br. Ramesh Durairaj gave some information on the development work being carried out in the Marathwada region, and about the youth animation programs at BGVK Ahmednagar. He invited us to be more passionate in our ministry as Salesians. This attitude of being passionate is so contagious that our collaborators will also be encouraged to put in their very best, seeing our enthusiasm.
