BIS Correspondent
BORIVLI-MUMBAI, FEBRUARY 18, 2013: A Scout Camp was held for Std. Eight and Ninth on February 11-12, 2013 at Don Bosco High School, Borivli. Our able scout masters Mr. Mark and Mr. Nelson conducted the camp.
It was held on the school grounds. The State Training Commissioner for scouting, Mr. G. I. Engineer from Gujarat was present for all the sessions.
This camp created awareness about the objectives of the Scout Movement. Our young scouts were invested as full-fledged scouts on the day.
Among the many things our scouts were taught was the Patrol system, Flag break ceremonies, Estimation, pioneering projects, tent pitching and various types of knots and lashings. Talks were also given by Mr. G.I. Engineer on self-reliance, self- sacrifice and self-control.
The boys were thrilled with the Camping experience and the talks given on the life of Baden Powell and the scout movement.
At the end of the day, they expressed pride and joy for being a part of the Bharat Scouts and Guides Movement.
