SALESIAN COOPERATORS ANIMATION MEET
BIS Correspondent
MATUNGA-MUMBAI, MARCH 20, 2013: Five Salesian Delegates, one FMA Delegate and twenty five Co-operators who are members of Local Councils, met at the Provincial House for an afternoon programme. It started with lunch at 12.30 pm and carried on till 4.00 pm and was a fruitful time of listening and sharing.
Fr. Wilfred welcomed the gathering and then the Local Coordinators introduced their respective groups. Those present came from Pune, Nerul, Virar, Borivli, Kurla, Bandra, Matunga, Wadala West, and Wadala East. We were encouraged to know that Sr. Cherian fma, of Anmol was planning to start a unit of Salesian Co-operators at Koparkhairne.
A power point Hymn to Don Bosco started off the afternoon. We then watched two video presentations prepared by the Central Office in Rome. The ideas were further elaborated by the Provincial delegate, Fr. Wilfred.
Several points were discussed. The Provincial and Local Advisory Councils work towards building up in members, a sense of belonging to the Salesian Family. The activities should contribute to the formation of members. The yearly Strenna needs to be studied as animation of the members, during the meetings.
Gradually, the Local Council should prepare a Council Member for Formation, who has the aptitude for it. Other points concerned Election of office bearers, the Promise, and attendance at meetings.
An outline of the six annual programmes for the whole Salesian Family was then presented.
There was some time allotted to clarifications and suggestions and then the meeting concluded with a prayer and blessing.
