KARJAT-MAHARASHTRA, JULY 11, 2013: A group of boys led by Fr. Francis Kharjia accompanied by a few cooperators and parishioners from Kuwait visited Don Bosco, Karjat on the 7th of July 2013.The lush green mountains and the serene surrounding encaptured the visitors instantly.
Br.Savio D'Mello oriented the group about the place and the program. The trainees, through a simple skit in English, portrayed their day to day activities and training. This being their first venture in exposing their English they were indeed thrilled. Br. Savio D'Mello and Cl. Mavron Fernandes who prepared these boys in a few days' time were very happy with their efforts. Everyone appreciated the genuine effort of the boys and encouraged them to carry on.
Fr. Xavier gave a brief background about the trainees. Since the group had come on a pastoral visit to see the Salesian community and activities, it was an apt example of seeing a Salesian Cleric, Coadjutor Brother, and a Priest work as one unit to achieve the common goal of empowering the Marginalized Youth.
It was indeed a very enriching experience to both the visitors and the inmates of Don Bosco Karjat. The radiant joy and smiling faces expressed the satisfaction of the visit.
