CHINCHWAD-MAHARASHTRA, JULY 17, 2013: The investiture ceremony of the captains and trade monitors of Don Bosco- Tech took place on July
The ceremony began with lighting of the lamp by the trade Monitors followed by the hymn 'showers of blessing', invoking God's blessing on the leader to be role models for the others. Mr. Shafi Shaikh, the superintendent of the institute took over the oath ceremony and declared Rohit Gangurde and Ronny John captain and Vice-captain officially. Sandeep Donde, Faiz Khan, Anand D'souza, Kiran Sebastian, Shrikant Jamnik, Arshish Sawner, Bhushan Patil and Sachin Kharatmal were appointed leaders for their respective trade. The Principal Fr. Monty Rodrigues handed over the Institute flag to the captain as a sign of responsibility. The Vice-Principal, Bro. Anthony D'souza presented Ronny John with the vice-captain sash. The trade Instructors presented sashes to their respective leaders.
A singing competition was also organised for the students. Three students from each trade were allowed to participate in the competition. There were eighteen participants (seventeen boys and one girl) who came forward and gave their best with melodious singing. The participants sang songs in Hindi, English and other regional languages. Mrs. Betty Walsh and Mr. Sunil Bulbule were the judges for the competition. The first place was bagged by Gautam Kuli, second place by Rahul Mehra and third place by Sudhir Ekka. Towards the end all the participants were appreciated for their confidence.
