CHINCHWAD, AUGUST 3, 2013: Two hundred and seventy youngsters got themselves enrolled for the 2013, July - December course. These youngsters are from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Kerala, Goa, Uttar Pradesh Andhra Pradesh Karnataka and from various parts of Maharashtra. One hundred and ninety youngsters are residing in the campus. While the girls reside out of the campus in a rented room organised by the institute and under the care of Mr. Vijesh and his family living beside them. This year the institute has collaborated with two NGO's working for the development of the youngsters.
Don Bosco Chinchwad has Collaboration with the Organisation 'BARTI' (BABASAHEB AMBEDKAR RESEARCH TRAINING INSTITUTE), for the upliftment of the schedule caste youngsters. These youngsters have undergone a selection procedure (like aptitude test and personal interview) by the organisation and sent to Don Bosco Chinchwad. They have enrolled themselves in various courses that are available in the institute. The trade instructors have given a positive feedback about these youngsters with regard to their behavior and studies. The organization 'BARTI' looks after their finances.
The second Initiative with the organisation is 'MAHARSHTRA FELLOWSHIP for DEAF and DUMB, HADAPSAR'. This organisation works for the deaf and dumb youngsters in Maharashtra. Fifteen students have registered themselves for the electrician course. These youngsters are so enthusiastic in their trade and are eager to ask questions. Some of the youngsters are showing their talents in sports, art and craft, and also come out with creative ideas and methods to work. The institute staff is also showing a lot of interest in learning their sign language, which will make the communication understandable. With these fifteen youngsters coming in the institute, the Morale has raised up, especially in the hostel. Tata –Yazaki has come forward to employee these candidates.
