BIS # 3618 LOVE FOR MARY THROUGH A SERANADE

by Cl. Clarence Martis

MATUNGA-MUMBAI, AUGUST 7, 2013: The boarders of Don Bosco Matunga expressed their love for Our Blessed Mother through a serenade on 3rd August 2013 in the boarding hall. The programme was attended by the Rector, Fr. Wilfred D'Souza, Frs. Roy Noronha, Fr. Joaquim Fernandes and Fr. Richard D'Souza. All the boys participated in the program.

The program included hymns on Our Lady, skits on Our Lady of Lourdes and how our Blessed Mother helps us in our difficult moments. The boys also put up two instrumentals – one a medley involving two guitars and the other a hymn on the mouth organ. One of the boarders, Savio Koli, expressed his love for Mary through a poem while another boarder, Kevin Topiwala, expressed it through a sermonette 'Mary, the suffering servant'. Some groups also prepared their own compositions and put a tune to it.

The Rector congratulated them for taking the trouble on their own, to prepare such a wonderful program in honour of Our Lady.  He urged them to continue growing in their Marian devotion by helping and loving others just as Mary did. The theme of the Marian month they are celebrating is: 'MARY, TEACH US TO LIVE IN LOVE'. He then distributed some sweets and the evening came to a close with a movie.

The boarders truly made Our Blessed Mother happy by their renditions. They are eagerly awaiting the Marian Quiz.
