MATUNGA-MUMBAI, AUGUST 24, 2013: Pope Benedict XVI declared the Year of Faith from October 2012 to November 2013, to use this time to help understand what it means to be the good soil and what it means to be a true Catholic and a follower of Jesus. The Faith Celebration Day of the North Mumbai Deanery was held on Sunday 18th August, 2013 at Don Bosco, Matunga. Two hundred Sunday school children along with their Catechists attended this Celebration.

The program was set in motion with an action song, followed by the Holy Eucharist celebrated by Fr. Cleophas Braganza sdb. Fr. Cleophas in his homily explained to the children what Faith is and emphasized more on the readings in this connection. He was happy to see active participation from the children.

An ice breaker in the form of an action song was conducted by Clint. The first session was presented by Miss Mallika.  She explained the parable of the Sower and the parable of the Lost Sheep to the children in a simple way and connected it with the Word of God. The next session by Miss Molly was on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. She explained the four main pillars of Faith: 1. Creed. 2. Ten Commandments. 3. Sacraments. 4. Christian Prayer.

The children's participation for both the sessions was lively and enthusiastic. The celebration ended with a prayer by Lloyd. The children went home with the message that Faith is a very crucial element in their day to day life. The half day spent at Don Bosco was really meaningful because the children learnt a lot about Faith.
