WALUJ-AURANGABAD, AUGUST 30, 2013: Sixty two women from various SHGs associated with BGVK participated in a seminar on "Income Generating Activities for Self Help Groups" organized by BGVK – Waluj (Aurangabad) in collaboration with Suyog Business & Services and Florida Business Group, Aurangabad at BGVK-Waluj (Aurangabad).
Mr. Kamlesh the CEO of Suyog Business & Services along with his staff educated the assembled women on the finer details of 'Paper Plate Making' and also provided a hands-on demonstration to each of the participants. "Besides being an activity which involves minimum infrastructure and investment, the NGO promises to make available the raw materials and buy the finished products at a reasonable price from the SHGs" said Mr Kamlesh.
The afternoon session was conducted by Ms Seema & Ms Pushpa of Florida Business Group, Aurangabad. They spoke in detail about the procedure and the lucrative benefits of making florida or mushrooms which is a much sought after business activity among the SHGs in Aurangabad.
Fr. George D'Abreo sdb encouraged the participants to avail of this golden opportunity so as to make the SHGs vibrant and encourage other groups to do the same and improve the quality of life of women in rural Marathwada.
The SHG leaders jotted down the necessary details and expressed genuine desire to get started right away. While the participants were grateful that BGVK continues to stand by and with the poor and marginalized, the resource persons marveled at the enthusiasm of the participants and the facilities provided at Waluj and commitment shown by BGVK to make a difference in the lives of the people of Marathwada.
