WADALA-MUMBAI, AUGUST 30, 2013:  Three major events were held at Our Lady of Dolours Church, Wadala during the month of August. The first event was the 'All-Faith Prayer Meet' held on Sunday 11th August, 2013 organized by Fr. Allwyn along with the Bombay Catholic Sabha.

The meet began with a prayer service followed by Fr. Godfrey D'Sa, the Parish Priest along with religious leaders from among the various communities (Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, Sikh, Parsi) sharing their views and efforts to bring about peace and unity in the society. The program concluded with a pledge to work for peace and prosperity of India.

On the 14th of August 2013, Fr. Allwyn together with the Parish Prayer Group organised a Vigil Service in preparation for the feast of the Assumption of Our Lady. The Vigil began at 10.00pm with Praise and Worship and lasted through the night. It included action songs, testimonies and teachings. The Vigil concluding with a well animated celebration of the Eucharist at 4.00am

On the 15th of August 2013, St. Joseph School organised a Flag hoisting ceremony at 8.00am in the school hall and the chief guest was the top ranker at the recently concluded SSC exams. Independence messages were conveyed with each of the four Houses making their unique presentations detailing India's struggle for Independence and the dream for a free India interspersed with patriotic songs.

In the evening The Cultural Cell along with the Legion of Mary planned and executed the "Marian Quiz" for the Sunday school children. The boarders from Don Bosco, Matunga also participated in the program. Kudos to the Sunday School Teachers who took a lot of pains to train the children for the event!

Looking forward to more events like these, to foster bonding among the parishioners of Our Lady of Dolours Church, Wadala along with spiritual renewal.
