by Br. Clarence Martis
MATUNGA-MUMBAI,SEPTEMBER 12, 2013:  5th September, 2013 was a day of games and entertainment for the teachers of Don Bosco, Matunga. The boys of the 10th standard conducted classes for the Secondary section. During this time the Student Council organized interesting games for the teachers in the quadrangle, gymnasium and the boarding hall. The teachers enjoyed the morning. But this was not the end of the celebration. After some snacks in the afternoon, the teachers as a group went out for a movie.
On the 6th September, 2013 the day began with the Eucharistic celebration in the Shrine of Don Bosco's Madonna. The teachers entered the shrine in a procession. Fr. Bosco D'Mello the main celebrant invited all to pray for the teachers and their intentions. After the Eucharist, they were then escorted to their respective classes by the class monitors for a felicitation program.
The students vied with one another to perform their best for their teachers. The teachers were then escorted to the gymnasium for a common felicitation with the students of the 9th and 10th. Students from the Pre-primary to the Secondary staged colourful items. Ms Beatrice Pinto, the Assistant Head Mistress thanked the students for making the Teachers day memorable for all of them.
Many retired teachers were also present. The management presented every teacher with a token of appreciation for their work through the year. The festivities ended with the Principal thanking the teachers for all that they do and wishing them well for the year ahead.
