GUJARAT, NOVEMBER 8, 2013: The Umreth Deanery in collaboration with St. Vincent De Paul Society is conducting a three days camp for the Youth of Umreth Deanery from 31st October 2013 to 2nd November 2013 at Don Bosco, Kapadvanj.

On the 1st of November – the second day of the camp, the day began with Nature meditation followed by the first session at 8.00 am on group building by Mr. Rajesh Christian. The session was well animated with lot of activities and input. The second session was conducted by Fr. K. Tony the parish priest of Limdapura parish on Today's Youth. He stressed on the importance of family life and having parents and elders as mentors.Fr. Sandeep the Ahmdedabad diocese Youth director addressed the youth on "Youth and Values of life". He guided the youth basing his talk on Christ's values, to have value a based life to be successful.

Rt. Bishop Thomas Macwan was the main celebrant for the day's Eucharist. He was pleased to see so many youth participating in this seminar. Being the feast of All Saints day, in his Homily, he challenged the youth to be Saints in daily life.

In the following sessions Sr. Fulmani, in charge of Prison Ministry for the diocese of Ahmedabad shared her experiences of animating the prison inmates. Mr. Deepak the president of Legion of Mary, informed the youth about his own experiences of being touched by Mother Mary and how he goes about spreading the devotion of Mary.

The next session on "Youth and Public Life" by Fr. Joseph Appavoo and Mr. Vincent Luis challenged the youth to form a federation and come out strongly in public life and make a difference in the society.

The climax of the day was the Night Dhamaka. The youth really showed their talents on the stage and made this evening wonderful. Around thirty youngsters participated in individual talent show and then the general Garba was organized. Mr. Shailesh Jadav, Mr. Jwalant and their team provided excellent music while Mr. Nileshkumar was the singer of the day for Garba. The day ended on a happy note. 

On the third and final day of the seminar, Fr. Mayank Parmar sdb, the deanery youth coordinator took the youth through meditation on "Self in relation with others". Fr. Isaac conducted a two hours session on the topic "Youth and Church". He made the youth realize through a group discussion that the church is no more operating on pyramid style. Now the whole approach of the church is a circle where all are given importance. The youth have a major role to play in the local church. He asked the youth to prepare action plans which could be implemented in their villages and parishes.

Later Fr. Vijay SJ shared his experiences of attending the World Youth day and also helped those present reflect upon the story of Abraham-the Father of faith.

The day concluded with an evaluation session. The youth expressed that the camp was an enriching experience. Master Bharat from Kathlal Parish explicitly said that he is going to form a youth group in the parish. Master Kevin from Thasra parish explained that such events should be organized often. Ms. Sonal from Balasinor parish said that she 'felt at home' at Don Bosco, Kapadvanj. Ms. Nisha from Dakor said that she would become an active member of youth group and motivate others too. Master Nimesh from Umreth Parish shared the wonderful experiences he had during the camp.

The thanksgiving mass was offered by Fr. Rocky D'silva the vicar general of the archdiocese of Gandhinagar. He stressed on the importance of saving our own souls by doing good deeds daily and be more participating in the church.

The youth were presented T-Shirts with the logo of St. Vincent De Paul. All departed happily to come back again for another seminar of this kind.
