by  Ms. Lynette Sequeira

BORIVLI-MUMBAI, NOVEMBER 13, 2013: There's no better way to learn than to experience things for oneself. The students at Don Bosco, Borivli have had a couple of wonderful learning experiences during the Educational Tours this year. 69 students from Std. 10, accompanied by a few staff members and the Principal Fr. George Carlos, visited the land of sun and sand – Goa, during the last week of October.

They had an opportunity to visit and enjoy the usual tourist attractions like the Bom Jesu Basilica in Old Goa, a cruise down the Mandovi River and also spent some time at the beach. The additional attractions on the itinerary this year were a visit to a Cashew Factory, a Spice Plantation and a memorable visit to the Naval Aviation museum, which was one of the highlights of the trip.

The boys were also privileged to enjoy an authentic Goan Meal. The students thoroughly enjoyed every single moment of the trip and this being their last outing as Bosco Boys.

The second school trip this year was from the 6th to the 11th of November to the beautiful Garden City, Bangalore and to the very well-maintained Mysore. The students enjoyed the lush scenic greenery all along the trip by road between the two cities, colourful and fragrant gardens in Bangalore and Srirangapatnam, dancing fountains at the Brindavan Gardens in Mysore, a glimpses of Indian history at the Mysore Palace and Tipu Sultan's Summer Palace, extremely close encounters with animals and birds aplenty at the Mysore Zoo and the Bannerghatta Biological Park, an unexpected visit to a Silk Factory and an extremely enjoyable and wonderful learning experience at the huge Vishweshwara Science Centre in Bangalore.

The 57 students from Std.5 - 9 and the 8 staff members including the Principal, who spent a few days on this Educational Tour to Bangalore and Mysore, got an amazing opportunity to experience all this and much more. Every moment was a special memory and the boys got ample opportunities to learn so much.

The Staff conveyed a special word of thanks to the Management for providing such wonderful fun learning experiences to the boys and also to the new and extremely efficient, well-organised and highly recommended Tour Operators, Adventure Education Tours (Mumbai) Pvt. Ltd. who played a very important role in ensuring that both the School Tours this year were Educational Trips in the true sense of the word, along with being a lot of fun.
