BIS # 3757 RECTOR MAJOR BLESSES MUMBAI WITH HIS PRESENCE

MATUGA-MUMBAI, NOVEMBER 18, 2013: The Province of Mumbai was privileged to have the Rector Major, Fr. Pascual Chavez in its midst for an entire day. He celebrated the Eucharist for the confreres of the Provincial House and then paid a quick visit to meet the confreres at Karjat and the youngsters at the 'Scout Gromo 2013 Camp" at Lonavla. 

He inaugurated the Camp and spoke to them on the theme: "Heal the World".  In the evening he met the Salesian Sisters and then the Salesians at an informal gathering. In his talk to the Salesians, Fr. Chavez shared his personal experience and growth in holiness, through his term as the Rector Major of the Salesian Congregation. He mentioned that through his term at the head of the Salesian Congregation, he felt close to the Lord and through the trials and temptations he remained strong in his faith and trusted in the Lord and in Don Bosco. He also observed that he had grown in his knowledge, understanding and love of Don Bosco, and exhorted the gathering to do the same in the run up to the bicentenary celebrations of the birth of St. John Bosco.

He shared with all present the sufferings and pain he is presently going through in his infirmity and exhorted them to keep him in their prayers. He also shared with them some of the programs being worked out in Rome for the bicentenary celebrations.

The conference concluded with a vote of thanks.
