BORIVALI-MUMBAI, DECEMBER 2, 2013The title sums up the message that the students of the Green House conveyed to the audience on the 27th of November, 2013. The Green House Day celebrations were dedicated to Kalpana Chawla, who rocketed from humble beginnings to become a hero of an astronaut and a role model for Indian children and Michael Magone, the teenage Saint.

The first part of the programme threw light on Kalpana Chawla's extraordinary life, her numerous achievements and her virtues that we can emulate. Kalpana Chawla was an organised lady of iron resolve. She would always aim high and persevere ceaselessly till she attained her goal. It was no wonder then, that she was a very successful person, be it in school, college or on a mission, hundreds of kilometres above the earth's surface!

A skit depicting an interview with Kalpana Chawla herself was presented, and a Power Point Presentation listed her countless achievements and quoted her memorable quotes. It was indeed a great tragedy for India, space research and science that she was killed aboard the Columbia during re entry.

Michael Magone did not have a father. Therefore he was an uncontrollable youth who was always involved in some mischief on the streets. Don Bosco won him over to the path of righteousness and sanctity. His exemplary life was a model for all youth to imitate. A Power Point Presentation and a video about him were displayed.

The program concluded with a quiz regarding these great personalities. The Yellow House emerged the winner after five rounds of intense competition. All of us can definitely learn to dream big, work cheerfully and achieve bigger from Kalpana Chawla and Michael Magone.
