Ahmednagar, January 21, 2014: The campus of St. Anne's Parish bustled with cheers as it witnessed the gathering of 85 spirit filled youngsters. The Youth Fest which was organized particularly for the youth of the parish was a thrilling rendezvous that began at 5:30 pm and ended at 10:30 pm.
The program began with a prayer service invoking the presence of the Lord and thanking Him for the opportunity to come together as God's children. The prayer service was conducted by Fr. Thomas D'Costa followed by few words of welcome in which he emphasized the purpose of the Youth Fest. Thereafter as a response to the influence of the media on the youth culture today, a session based on "The Prudent Use of Media" was conducted by Mr. Ian Lemos.
In order to bring some life to the evening Fr. Rolvin D'Mello conducted a few whacky ice-breakers and some crazy action songs. To pump up the cheer this was followed by some exciting games and thrillers. Next came in the Jam Session where in all hell broke loose as they youth grooved themselves to the music. The youth enjoyed it the most as they were at their best. The highlight of the fest was the soul-stirring charismatic prayer around the campfire that was conducted by Fr. Rolvin together with the choir group. Here everyone experienced a sense of unity with oneself, with one's neighbour and with God. The program ended with prize distribution and a sumptuous dinner. The Youth Fest catered to the three F's of Youth Ministry viz. Food, Fun and Fellowship.
