NERUL-MUMBAI, FEBRUARY 3, 2014: Don Bosco Senior Secondary School, Nerul was privileged to have Fr. Charlin Chandran and Fr. Shekar Mariadas, the newly ordained priests amidst them on the 23rd January, 2014.They celebrated the Eucharist for the Catholic students and teachers of the school.
Fr. Shekhar was the main celebrant while Fr. Charlin preached the homily. Fr. Osbourne Furtado (Vocational Promoter), Fr. Bonnie Borges (Manager) and Fr. Anthony Fonseca
(Principal) were the concelebrants. They offered the Eucharist for the aspirations of all the students. The Choir sang hymns beautifully and enlivened the liturgy.
During his sermon, Fr. Charlin spoke about the importance of prayer in our daily lives. He also narrated an interesting story about two friends, who were hired to carry water from a nearby river to a cistern in the town square. They start filling the cistern by carrying buckets of water. One of them, then thinks of a better way to carry water. He starts building a pipeline from the river to the cistern while the other friend continues to carry buckets of water.
Fr. Shekhar ended the story with a motivational message – ‘We should build pipelines to achieve our goals, be it our studies, work or spiritual life.’
After the final hymn, the new priests were congratulated by the Manager, Fr. Bonnie Borges.
Fr. Charlin and Fr. Shekhar thanked the Management for inviting them to Don Bosco, Nerul. They also shared their vocation stories. Their testimonies helped the students to reflect on their sense of purpose and vocation. The students and all those present were then invited to kiss the anointed hands of the newly ordained priests.
