NORTH ARABIAN VICARIATE, MAY 21, 2014: The Sixteenth of May, was a glorious day in St. Thérèse Parish, Kuwait as 50 children received the sacrament of confirmation. The mass began with the children entering the church in procession. Archbishop Petar Rajič, the Apostolic Nuncio, was the main celebrant and Fr. Blany Pinto sdb, Parish Priest and Fr. Franco Pereira sdb, the Catechetical Director for the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia were the concelebrants.
In his homily, the Nuncio reminded the candidates of the promise given by Jesus, to send the Holy Spirit on his disciples. During the Confirmation Rite, the candidates were presented to the Nuncio and a testimony was given, stating, that they were ready for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. Each candidate then came forward before the Nuncio, and he confirmed them with the oil of Chrism.
The children welcomed the Holy Spirit into their lives and received the gifts and the fruits of the Holy Spirit. It was a proud moment for the parents and relatives who were part of the Eucharistic celebration. The occasion was enhanced with the melodious voices of the children's choir. The celebration went off smoothly and meticulously, due to the efforts of the parish priest, the confirmation teachers and all the other catechists and volunteers. The ceremony ended with photographs being taken of the candidates, parents, the concelebrants, the catechists and volunteers.
