MUMBAI-MATUNGA, MAY 26, 2014: The Salesian Province of Mumbai has been doubly blessed this year. Earlier in the day, twelve young novices made their First Profession at Salesian Training Institute (STI) – 
In his homily, Fr. Provincial focused on the importance of the Call and the significance of living the Evangelical Counsels in a world that gives no place for sacrifice and renunciation. He drew the attention of the newly professed, in keeping with the themes of GC27, to be committed 'God Seekers', 'Prophets of Fraternity' and 'Servants of the Young'. The eight young Salesians, Velasli Bandya, Evangelo D' Souza, Romero D' Souza, Ranson D' Souza, Roshan Gonsalves, Justus Mendis Renold Lemos, Anthony Patole solemnly professed their commitment to live forever in the Salesian Congregation. The Salesian Constitutions, C.22 states: "Every Call is an indication that the Lord loves the Congregation, wants to see it vibrant for the good of the church and never ceases to enrich it with new apostolic energy". The Salesians of the Mumbai Province tangibly felt this 'love of the Lord for the congregation' with the gift of our 12 newly professed and our 8 Perpetually professed Salesians. Vocations are always nurtured in good families, and it was an occasion to give thanks to God for the gift of committed family life - the seed bed for vocations.
May the generosity of all these 20 young Salesians be an inspiration to many youngsters as a 'stimulus and help on the path to holiness' (C.25)
