BIS # 3982 BORN ANEW TO LOVE ANEW

by Cl. Christopher Nadar sdb

NASHIK, MAY 26, 2014: On the feast of Mary Help of Christians, nineteen young men made their First Religious Profession in the Society of St. Francis de Sales at 7.00 am in the Don Bosco Parish, Nashik. The Provincial of the Salesian Mumbai Province, Rev. Fr. Godfrey D'souza sdb presided at the solemn meaningful and well-animated Eucharist; with other salesian priests concelebrating. There were also many benefactors and well-wishers present for the celebration.

In his homily, the Provincial focused on some of the points taken up during the GC 27 making the novices aware of the importance of the day of the profession in their lives. He brought to light the central point of their mission and asked them to be always committed to Christ and be radical witnesses of His love. After the homily, the 19 young men professed the vows publicly; eighteen novices received the cassock and the book of the Constitutions and Regulations whilst one received the cross. There was also one FMA novice who professed her vows in the institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. The gracious moments were when they donned the cassocks and members of the Salesian congregation helped them button the cassock and when they received the Constitutions.

In the evening, there was a short felicitation and thanksgiving programme during which the newly professed expressed their gratitude to Don Bosco in the name of the Salesian Congregation, to the Provincial, the Novice master and the Formation staff. Our hearty congratulations to the new Salesians.
God Bless You!!!
