WALWANDA-THANE, JUNE 26, 2014: On June 24, 2014, Fr. Anaclete D'mello, sdb, the Director of Bosco Samajik Vikas Sanstha, visited Divyadaan and spoke to the brothers about the missions at Jowahar-Mokhada. He began the session by explaining the scope of the Sanstha which was the empowerment of tribals by conscientizing them about their rights and enabling them to fight for the same. Apart from this, he also informed the assembly about the technical school and career guidance facility offered to the children.
After giving an overall vision of the apostolate, Fr. Anaclete invited sixteen Brothers to join in the Sunday apostolate to help in teaching English to students from different schools in Jowahar-Mokhada. The conference brought great awareness of the type of problems faced by the adivasis and how the Salesians along with lay collaborators were working as a team to make the villagers of Jowahar-Mokhada independent and self-reliant.
