MATUNGA-MUMBAI, JUNE 28, 2014: On June 21, 2014 at 5:30p.m, the newly appointed Youth Director of the Diocesan Youth Centre (DYC) Fr. Ryan Alex along with the second year theology students of St. Pius Seminary had an interactive meet with the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) Director and youth members. The purpose of the meeting was for the brothers to interact with the youth and understand the variations they could bring about in their youth ministry.
The seminarians asked questions concerning the functioning of the SYM. The youth expressed their opinions and also spoke about what drew them to the Don Bosco Youth Services. Furthermore, they spoke of the Salesian Youth Spirituality and how they practiced it in their lives. They also highlighted the events they organized and how it helped them to grow in responsibility. They expressed how new members joined the SYM after the 'Youth Pasch' and the 'Jordan Call'. The youth also made known to the brothers the four commissions that they worked under namely; Spiritual, Communication, Socio-political and Sports. They said that the 'no age bar' policy provided a blend of experience as well as freshness.
Thereafter the DYC director and the brothers were given a guided tour of the entire Youth Services building. They were interested in knowing the way each sector functioned. The meeting ended with a hope that it would be the first of the many encounters to work hand-in-hand for the youth.
