LONAVLA-PUNE, JUNE 28, 2014: Don Bosco Lonavla inaugurated the Dominic Savio week on June 27, 2014, at 7.30 pm. All the priests, brothers and the boys were present for the inauguration.
The programme began with the hymn to Dominic Savio. The theme of the Savio week was decided as 'Bloom in holiness'. The compere invited the Rector, Fr. Solomon Rapol, to declare the Savio week open. The staff and the captains of the teams and the leaders of the boarding were called for the lighting of the lamp. It was followed by a sermonette given by one of the apostolic boys, Cleopas Lobo.
The Novena prayer in honour of Dominic Savio was recited by all, after which, Fr. Rapol addressed the boys. He said that the one quality that he admired in Dominic Savio was the quality of obedience. He narrated the incident of the first meeting of Don Bosco and Dominic Savio where he put himself totally in the hands of Don Bosco. Fr Rapol urged the boys to practice the virtue of obedience during the Savio week. The inauguration ceremony ended with the singing of the Savio Anthem. This was followed by dinner and the night games.
