BIS # 4019 DON BOSCO MATUNGA INVESTS ITS SCHOOL LEADERS

MATUNGA-MUMBAI, JULY 8, 2014: The entire school celebrated the feast of St. Dominic Savio, the boy Saint on Saturday July 5, 2014. The solemn day began with the Eucharistic celebration and the Prayer Service. The life of Dominic Savio was explained to all. Thereafter the students and staff assembled in the school gymnasium, for the Investiture ceremony.
 
The ceremony highlighted the role of a true leader following the footsteps of Dominic Savio. The elected Student Council officials, the four House Captains and the leaders for Scouting, R.S.P. and N.C.C. were invested with symbols of authority and leadership. The Rector, Principal, Vice Principal, Asst. Head Mistress and the Primary Head Teacher invested and then led the office bearers to take their oath. Thereafter, the teachers in charge of their respective houses adorned their Captains and Vice Captains.
 
Fr. Rector addressed the gathering with appropriate words. The leaders expressed their joy by singing the hymn 'Joy is the Flag Flown High'. After much applause and congratulations, the newly elected leaders and the school Captains recited a prayer and together as one big 'Don Bosco Family' sang the hymn to 'Dominic Savio – The Patron of Youth'. The school Captain proposed the vote of thanks followed by the Principal's concluding words. The School Anthem brought the solemn occasion to a close.
