BIS # 4020 HEALING OF THE MIND, BODY AND SOUL

NORTH ARABIAN VICARIATE, JULY 8, 2014: The healing ministry of the parish of St Therese was launched on July 1, 2014. The inaugural session of the healing ministry of St Therese Parish began with an opening prayer and a welcome speech by the Parish Priest. John Joseph, the lead coordinator took over and welcomed the members. He provided an overview of the ministry, outlining the new mission that was envisioned.
 
Representatives from the various partner ministries were invited to briefly address the participants. Dr. Milania Jacob a physiotherapist from the Ministry of Health spoke about 'healing of the body', Sonu George spoke about 'healing of the mind', and two speakers Louis Dcosta representing Extraordinary Ministers of Communion Distribution (EMCDs) and Robin Lasrado from the Hospital and Prison Visitation Ministry spoke of 'healing of the soul'.

Amira Peter then facilitated a group discussion among the participants to identify potential areas of work for the nascent ministry.  Activities in the four areas of; spiritual development, personal development, fellowship and outreach were suggested by the participants. Finally, Christopher Pereira helped the group form a core team of five members that would lead the ministry forward. The inaugural session concluded with a closing prayer and blessing by Fr. Joy Marangattikala sdb, the Spiritual Director of the Ministry and also the guiding mentor of the new mission.
