BIS # 4046 MONTHLY MELA AT SHELTER DON BOSCO WADALA

WADALA-MUMBAI, JULY 24, 2014: Shelter Don Bosco conducted the "Monthly Mela" for outreach boys who were eighteen years and above in age on  July 20, 2014.  There were 106 outreach boys who participated in the mela. The main objective of the mela was to give the outreach boys of their campus a holistic experience of light games, awareness of health and hygiene, counseling, food and entertainment.


The mela began with the registration at 8:30 am which was followed by breakfast and tea. During the assembly, all the boys were welcomed by Fr. Gregory D'Almeida, the Rector of Shelter Don Bosco and they were explained the main objective of the Mela which was to give a new life and a new beginning to all of them. Afterwhich, telly games were organized for the boys by Br. Sandeep Parmar and Shelter boys. The boys really had a good time enjoying the different games. Dr. Pranam, the Incharge of the BMC Primary Health Centre, Matunga animated a session on medical care in which he explained to the boys about medical care, health and hygiene.


Hair-cutting, Nail -cutting , Medical check-up, Bath, Distribution of clothes and Counseling were some of the activities that were a part of the mela. Post lunch, the boys gathered on the dance floor for a dance session afterwhich a hindi film named Ek Villian was screened. The Monthly Mela offered an opportunity to keep in touch with the outreach boys.  The mela inspired many outreach boys as they decided to change their lives by going to Jeevan Dhara, Titwala for rehabilitation. The staff members of Shelter Don Bosco, Don Bosco BalPrafulta, Sr. Moksha, Volunteers, Benefactors and Well Wishers were thanked for their help and support in organizing the mela.
