MATUNGA-MUMBAI, JULY 26, 2014: The Dominic Savio House of Don Bosco High School, Matunga essayed to put together some snippets from the short, but riveting life of St. Dominic Savio who explored the myth that teen years were all about unbridled fun, sans values on July 22, 2014.
The programme shed light on Dominic's resolve to live a holy life while he mirrored the credo "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young but set an example for others in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity". The presentation depicted scenes that proved to the assembly that each person would find favour with God once their mission on earth was fulfilled. They highlighted Dominic's prayer life and his revulsion towards doing the forbidden. The presentation was peppered with some meaningful hymns and songs. The audience also got a glimpse of the fact that Dominic Savio was not faint hearted teen, but that he was always in his element on the playing fields.
The assembly revolved round this year's theme: Born for a Mission. Fr Rector in his address to the assembly exhorted the teenagers to be little Dominic Savios among their companions in school and also made them aware that the opening of the Bicentenary for the birth of Don Bosco was close at hand.
