BIS # 4155 DANDHIYA COMPETITION ORGANIZED AT DON BOSCO, LONAVLA

LONAVLA-PUNE, SEPTEMBER 30, 2014: The Don Bosco School and Junior College organized an evening of dandhiya in the school and college premises, on September 26, 2014. The invitation was open to students, teachers and also the family members of the students. The programme started at 6:00 pm. 


In the beginning, the students were allowed to dance in their own groups and to learn some dandhiya steps after which, there was a competition which was organized by the Principal and the teachers. Some students had come in traditional 'dandhiya' costume. Majority of the students took part in the competition and a few were selected and given prizes. There were also canteen facilities provided for those who wanted to replenish their appetites. 


The success of the programme was due, to the careful and detailed planning of the P.T.A members, college captains along with the Principal. The students and their parents enjoyed their day. The programme ended at 8:30 p.m. The proceeds from this venture would be sent for the relief of the people in Jammu and Kashmir.
