BIS # 4221 PAPERBACK EDITION OF KRISTAPURANA LAUNCHED AT SHRIRAMPUR

SHRIRAMPUR-AHMEDNAGAR, NOVEMBER 11, 2014: On November 7, 2014 the paperback edition of the Kristapurana, Advent and Christmas cycle (in Marathi and English) was launched at Loyola Divyavani, Shrirampur by Dr. Fr. Nelson Falcao, Ph.D,SDB in the presence of International Guests. 


The Guests included  Fr. Lisbert D'Souza, SJ, Assistant General, from Rome was present, representing the Superior General, Fr. Stephen Kikle, SJ, Provincial of Germany, Fr. Rocha Rosario, SJ.  Provincial of Goa Province, Fr .Tony, Provincial of Karnataka,   Fr. Klaus Wahathroda, SJ,  Mission Procurator of Germany and Fr. Tony Kurma, SJ, Mission Procurator of Switzerland. The Bishop of Nashik, Lourdes Daniel and Bishop Edwin Colaco, of Aurangabad and a few other priests and religious from the vicinity were also present for the same.

 
This year marks the closing of the 200 years since the restoration of the Jesuit society as well as the celebration of the 160 years of ministry in the Western region of India. Significant stoles were used by participating priests on the occasion with the motiff 'Riese' meaning 'restoration' both words were embossed on each flap. Dr. Fr.  Nelson Falcao, Ph.D, sdb offered to launch the Marathi and English edition of the Paperback edition of Thomas Stephen's Kristapurana : Advent and Christmas cycle which was accepted by the Ahmednagar District Mission Superior, Fr. Joe D'Souza, SJ who sponsored the literary project. 


The Kristapurana would now be affordable to all.  "We, Jesuits and Salesians, accepted to launch the paperback edition, in recognition of the Missionary work and labour of the German and Swiss pioneers who sacrificed their lives for the planting of the seeds of the Good News in its inculturated form in the culturally rich land of spirituality; India. Fr. Bahusaheb Sansare, SJ, Provincial of the Poona-Nashik Province, preached the homily. Fr.
